AgeSong at Lakeside Park is an extension of the AgeSong vision. We are committed to changing the societal view of aging and the tendencies to pathologize and judge symptoms as a decline in one's quality of life.
AgeSong at Lakeside Park cares for up to 70 residents, yet a typical ‘neighborhood’ serves just 6–8 residents — each with their own studio bedroom or shared suite with private bathroom. The bedrooms open onto a living room and conversation area shared by the neighborhood residents. Common dining, program, and activity spaces are located in the center of the building.
This design plan replaces long, hospital-like corridors with a more familiar family-style environment. In addition, each neighborhood features unique and colorful tromp l'oeil murals by artist Steve McNally.
We encourage families to decorate residents' rooms and bring familiar and comfortable furniture, knickknacks, artwork, and family photos.
The spacious activity areas and state-of-the-art security systems allow AgeSong at Lakeside Park to offer additional security while allowing residents the freedom to walk through the community, participate in activities and groups, and have access to the outdoors. Our gated ground-level garage allows for easy parking and access for families and visitors.
In addition to our building design, our location enables residents to stay connected to the greater community by participating in activities in the park, walks to Lake Merritt, and group lunches or tea at local restaurants.

“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes.” — Marcel Proust
